Christ is Risen!
With the blessing of His Eminence, Archbishop Melchisedek, and His Grace, Bishop Vasily, our current rector, V. Rev. Archpriest Alexander Cadman, will be transferred from Ss. Mary and Michael Orthodox Parish this summer to begin a new pastoral assignment in the Diocese of the West.
As our parish of two churches begins preparing prayerfully for this transition, the Councils of St. Michael’s Orthodox Church in Irvona and Nativity of the Theotokos Orthodox Church in Madera are working together with the Archdiocese of Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania to assist in the process of identifying and welcoming the next rector of the parish.
In accordance with the practice and procedures of the Archdiocese, inquiries, recommendations, and communications regarding the rector transition should be directed to:
Correspondence submitted through this email address will be received by Fr. Mark Meholick, Dean of the Eastern Deanery, together with the presidents of both Church Councils in order to assist in communication and coordination throughout the transition process.
Clergy interested in learning more about Ss. Mary and Michael Orthodox Parish are encouraged to review the “News” and “Records” sections of orthodoxclearfield.org, which include information regarding the parish’s recent growth, ministries, resolutions, and operating budgets.
The faithful of Ss. Mary and Michael Orthodox Parish are also encouraged to remember this transition in their prayers:
Again we pray Thee, O Lord our God, that through the prayers of our patrons, the Most Holy Theotokos and the Archangel Michael, Thou wouldst look mercifully upon Thy servants in this time of transition and change. Preserve this parish in peace, steadfastness, and unity, and let not the hearts of Thy people be troubled or fearful, but strengthen them by the assurance of Thy loving providence and care. Guide those entrusted with the discernment and appointment of a new rector for this community, and raise up for Thy flock a faithful shepherd, rightly dividing the word of Thy truth, loving Thy people with a pure heart, and serving Thee with wisdom, humility, and zeal. Prepare both pastor and people according to Thy good pleasure, that together they may labor for the salvation of souls and the growth of Thy holy Church in this county, we pray Thee hear us and have mercy.
