In light of the developing winter storm forecast for the area, here are several updates regarding this weekend’s hierarchical visit.

Although the National Weather Service has not yet issued a formal warning, forecasts continue to indicate the likelihood of significant snowfall beginning early Sunday morning. To avoid traveling during potentially hazardous conditions, His Eminence, Archbishop Melchisedek, will depart Madera on Saturday evening and return to the Chancery. While the Divine Liturgy scheduled for Sunday has not yet been formally canceled, His Eminence will be back at the Chancery on Sunday morning.

As a result, the following changes have been made to the weekend schedule:

  • Great Vespers will be served at 4:00 pm on Saturday. The service will take the form of a modified hierarchical vigil, including the singing of the resurrectional troparia, the reading of the Sunday Gospel, and an exhortation from His Eminence.
  • A special potluck dinner will follow the vigil on Saturday evening, offering an opportunity for fellowship with His Eminence. Sign-ups remain open, and parishioners may update their responses using the previously shared link.
  • The All-Parish Photo originally planned for Sunday has been postponed.

Weekly Announcements will be sent as scheduled and will include any additional updates. The most current parish schedule is always available at orthodoxclearfield.org/calendar. Parishioners are encouraged to exercise good judgment and to receive God’s blessing to remain home if travel conditions make attendance unsafe.

The parish looks forward to gathering as circumstances allow and thanks everyone for their patience and understanding.
