Last Sunday, September 7, as we celebrated the Feast of the Nativity of the Theotokos, the patron feast of our temple in Madera, our parish was blessed to also support Asher and his family in the 2025 Walk for Apraxia.
Childhood apraxia of speech is a rare motor speech disorder that makes it difficult for children to plan and coordinate the movements needed for clear speech. The Walk is the largest awareness and fundraising event of its kind in the U.S. and Canada, celebrating the courage of children and supporting vital programs such as therapy scholarships, educational resources, and online outreach.
We rejoice to share that Asher’s team, Team dASH, raised $1,415, the highest total among all participating teams! This wonderful accomplishment is a testament to Asher’s courage, his family’s dedication, and the love and support of our parish community.

The day was filled with joy, encouragement, and fellowship as families, friends, and supporters came together for this important cause.

We thank God for the success of the event and for the opportunity to stand alongside Asher and his family. May their witness inspire us all to serve with faith, perseverance, and hope.
