Missiologists speak of four concentric circles of missionary activity, originating with one’s soul and extending to the foreign mission field. This Lent, we have an opportunity to support each of these levels, bringing the Gospel to ourselves, to our immediate community, to Orthodox Christians here and in other countries, and to the unchurched around the world. As you are able, please consider giving to each of these worthy endeavors:

  • Clearfield Area Food Pantry. Parishioners are invited to bring non-perishable food items to church each Sunday of Lent for Fr. Alex to deliver. We will be working with volunteers with the Clearfield-based Central Pennsylvania Community Action this year with the hopes that a new partnership will be forged that will allow us to distribute food not only in Clearfield, but from Irvona and Madera as well. Monetary donations will also be accepted (be sure to put “Food Pantry” on the envelope or memo line of your check). Please pray for the success of this effort and for all those we will serve.
  • The Orthodox Church of Poland (via His Eminence Metropolitan Tikhon and the Orthodox Church in America) has an immediate need for donations to help refugees displaced by the war in Ukraine. All donations are tax deductible. You can donate directly at oca.org/relief
  • This year we are also participating in the OCMC Coin Box Program. Each family is invited to pick up a box at either church to bring home so your whole family can participate. Bring your filled boxes back to Madera on Palm Sunday so we can announce the total collected!

Thank you for your generosity.
